COVID-19 Travel Requirements

Vaccination Passes

From the 15th December 2021 all passengers travelling on Stewart Island Flights services will need to provide one of the following:
 

  • Proof you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The New Zealand Government’s My Vaccine Pass can be presented digitally or as a physical copy, or
     

  • A negative COVID-19 test result, taken within 72 hours of your departing flight in the form of either a text message or letter from a medical professional.

You will need to show your proof of vaccine, or a negative COVID-19 test during the check-in process to our team.

 

This requirement applies to all passengers older than12 years and three months of age.

If you have an approved medical exemption for the COVID-19 Vaccine we require a negative test to be taken within 72 hours of your departure time. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: There is nowhere on Stewart island to get a negative test. 
For p
assengers that fly to Stewart Island with us using 'proof of a negative COVID-19 test' we will accept this test for your return flight within 7 days of the date of the test.

  •  How will you check if passengers are fully vaccinated? 
    We will be checking your COVID-19 vaccination certificate at check-in.

  • I have a medical exemption and do not require a COVID-19 vaccination, can I still fly?
     Yes, however you will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to your departure.

  • Can I use an international COVID-19 vaccination certificates?
     No. All passengers must have a New Zealand issued COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (CVC) or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours prior to departure.

  • How do I show proof of a negative COVID-19 test?
    Stewart Island Flights will accept proof of a negative COVID-19 test result in the form of a text message or a letter from a medical professional. It can take up to 72 hours to receive a COVID-19 test result. If you require a negative test result we recommend you plan your test as soon as possible within 72 hours of departure, as you will not be allowed to board your flight if you have not received your result.

  • Can I get a travel test on Stewart Island?
    No. The clinic on Stewart Island will not be carrying out travel testing.

    For passengers that fly to Stewart Island with us using 'proof of a negative COVID-19 test' we will accept this test for your return flight within 7 days of the date of the test.

  • Do you accept a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test from a pharmacist?
    Yes we do.
